We launched some changes late last year to the order that properties appear in search results based on traveler feedback of what is most important to them when searching for a vacation rental. After your subscription level, your listing quality scores determine where your property appears within search results. The most important factors families and groups look for when renting a property include high quality photos, reviews from past travelers, quotable rates, online booking capabilities, online payments acceptance, updated calendars, an accurate map pin placement and your listing’s tenure. Important factors of your listing quality score
- Photos are the first impression of a traveler has of your listing, so make sure you stand out and give travelers a variety of photos to browse through. Your listing can have up to 24 photos at no cost to you, so grab your camera and add more photos now.
- Reviews make new travelers more confident to book your property! If you have travelers that haven’t written a review yet, you can request one from them now by going here. VRBO customers, or HomeAway customers.
- Quotable rates allows travelers to find your property when filtering or sorting by price. Travelers will be able to see if your pricing fits their budget so you get better qualified inquiries. We've made it easier to manage your rates with easy to understand rate breaks, have added new features such as additional guest fee, and more.
- Payments and Online Booking provide travelers the convenience of paying and booking your property online. You get paid quickly and securely. Properties that have online booking receive double the bookings as those without. It only takes a few minutes so sign up now.
Communicating securely with your guests
We launched a new messaging feature in December of last year to enhance the security of your communications and reduce phishing. While messages our now sent through our secure system, you can still email with potential guests from your personal email client such as Yahoo or Google or you can log in to your dashboard to respond.
